![]() ![]() The outdoor venue was packed, it was breezy and 80 degrees out. Quote The Sicilian Well it was a great show. This was a rock show by a band that still knows how to kick it. If they come anywhere near your town.make sure you go. ![]() Missing were the encores they have been doing on the tour, including Musta Got Lost. The only slight negatives were Peter Wolf kind of rushing thru part of I Do and that an 11 pm curfew at the venue forced them to cut the set short at only 2 hours. The songs from Full House sounded as good as they did 30-40 years ago. But also rocked with Sanctuary and got funky with Surrender. Yes, they did the obligatory 'Centerfold' and 'Freeze Frame'. The band seemed to most enjoy playing some of their oldest material, from the covers they started their career with to Lookin For A love and even the semi-ballad 'Cry One More Time For You'. From the opening Sno Cone to the closing Houseparty they played with intensity. Duke Levine more than made up for the missing namesake of the band. They are in INCREDIBLE form! They played with energy and precision. Great show on a beautiful warm evening with a crappy ending. He kept turning the pages and checking it throughout the show. I think it had the setlist and maybe lyrics and banter stuff for him. One thing I noticed Peter Wolf had a music stand on the stage with a light on it, it was lower all the way down to his feet. Having seen them seven times before, it felt kind of wierd watching everyone filing in. That was really disappointing losing those encores. I think towards the end things got rushed do to the time constraints. House Party was a wreck, it seemed out of key and rushed. Detroit Breakdown was great with start and stop segments. Highlights for me were Just Can't Wait, Give It To Me, On Borrowed Time, Freeze Frame and Whammer Jammer. The show had a heavy emphasis on blues and Wolf reminded the crowd many times sending off many tributes to the famous bluesman that influenced their career. The Uptown Horns joined in to play after a couple songs in the beginning. Peter Wolf apologized for having to leave but said they had to off by eleven. ![]() The setlist was pretty much the same as Allentown except no encores because they had to end the show at 11:00 which kind of sucked. Geils came on around 9:00 after two warmup bands entertained everyone until about 8:30, and they finished at 11:00. ![]() (Ain't Nothin' But A) Houseparty Encore: 23.
