![]() They didn’t have adequate resources to handle it because they had never caught such a big load of fish before. They got such a big catch of fish that their nets were torn and boats almost sank, (Luke 5:6-7). For Peter Jesus’ advice was just a last resort. “But at your word, I will lower the nets”. Have you labored hard for nothing this evening? Are you fatigued? Are you worn out? Are you ready to do what God tells you – no matter what it takes? Jesus the carpenter or Peter the fisherman? ![]() The night is the best time for catching fish. ![]() After a while Jesus said, “Put out into the deep water and lower your nets for a catch.” Peter replied – “Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing! But at your word, I will lower the nets.” (Luke 5:4-5) Do you believe it? Would you give him a chance? 2. He utilizes your crisis to manifest himself. He had chosen them though they didn’t know. God has a plan for you too. There was one more boat – Why did he choose the one that belonged to Peter? At this time Jesus intentionally got into Peter’s boat, (Luke 5:3) and taught the crowd for a while. The setting: The fishermen were washing their nets because they had gathered a lot of dirt and filth instead of fish (Luke 5:1-2). Do you know that same Jesus is here to do the same with you and your problem this evening? Let’s find out. It’s not only Peter’s situation that changed. Peter followed his instructions and caught a great load of fish in the broad daylight. The next morning he met Jesus who seemed to control even mother nature. One night Peter and his friends tried every tool and trick of the trade – but didn’t catch a single fish. ![]() Two thousand years ago a fisherman called Peter had such a problem too. But sometimes we face ones that are beyond our control. All of us face problems in this lifetime. ![]()
